"Well, I am both a marketer and a participant on PayItTo me, so I was happy to discover this discussion and this site.

First a little background...

I, like many, discovered PayItToMe via Techcrunch, and decided to give it a try. I knew that most advertisers weren't gonna touch a wish that was too expensive in relation to an untested advertising model, so I decided to go small and unique--a 30 pack of Bud Light ($22.99 USD). Predictably, ads posted after mine were mostly composed of iPhones and other pricey gadgets.

Within 24 hours, my wish had been granted by a small web business operator. Another guy's wish for Halo 3 (about $50) was also granted by the operator of another small business. After that, the next few weeks were uneventful on the wish granted side, save for someone's Heroe's DVD and a couple other relatively cheap wishes.

But as the site gained publicity and its traffic has increased, so has the quantity, quality, and frequency of the wishes that have been granted. 2 iPhones and a Playstation 3 are among the some dozen items purchased by advertisers...

...And for you skeptics out there--no, it's not a scam. My Bud Light was quite real and quite refreshing...."

Rather than spending money on ad space, paying bloggers directly, etc., advertisers can appeal to a mass audience based on what wish they fulfill. HeLLo everybody !

It’s time...to present myself...

But first of all, I want to apologize for my poor English…a real disaster I know :-) I don’t speak English fluently (I speak French), and I hope you’ll understand everything in my concept description.

My name is Renaud (Reno for my friends) and I write to you from Brussels, in Belgium (Europe). I’m 30 years old, and I work for my municipal authorities (in social assistance).

I have created Payittome for this reason :

I love creating original, totally bizarre, powerfull and strange methods to promote websites on the web...something that can cause a "buzz phenomenon" on internet. It’s why I have imagined Payittome, a new kind of "viral marketing" concept. In general, people like what is uncommon and very strange...so, this blog can be a good example of what is made on internet (in this category)...

My project is based on originality and made with very few financial means and technical skills (this is a simple blog owned by an amateur creator). The goal is to experiment a new marketing concept and to prove that it is possible to attract new advertisers (who are much more interested in the concept), even with no "extremely well designed website". If it works : I'm what we call a little genius (j-o-k-e)...and advertisers are the big winners in terms of website promotion. If it doesn't work : it's not the end of the world...

The concept in few words :

You want to buy something but you don't have enough money to do it ? Do you want to find a generous advertiser who will accept to pay it to you for promotional reasons ?

If yes, you are invited to :

Take a photo of the desired item with the amount AND the currency well visible.
Own a Paypal account (all payments are made through Paypal).
Join the Payittome community on Facebook*.
Upload your photo here (please, don't forget to indicate your paypal email address in the "caption" section if you want to be paid).

Participate to this project as often as you want (but please, do not upload the same photo more than once !). All types of items (of any amount) are accepted : gadgets, shopping, and so on...

If you are an advertiser and if you want to pay for one of these desired items (direct marketing approach/making happy people), here are the guidelines :

Visit the "photos section" in the Payittome community and choose the item you want to pay**.
Please contact me at payittome@gmail.com before any payment and do not proceed to the payment if I haven't responded to your email.
Once payment is made, email me your Paypal payment proof + the photo of the item you paid + your link and a SHORT description if you want.
The photo of the item you paid (will link back to your website) will be posted here within 24-72hrs after your payment proof has been received.
Please have patience if things kick off and loads of advertisers contact me at the same time (your advertising period begins when your photo is posted on Payittome).
The photo of the item you paid will be uploaded on my homepage with the Blogger small size option.
Your paid item will be visible on my homepage during a period of minimum 15 days.
This is the item you paid that will focus attention on you : of course high amounts will catch more attention than the low ones.
All paid items will be placed on Payittome from the newest one to the oldest one.
After 15 days, the photo of the item you paid can be removed from my homepage (and archived) at any moment.
You may contribute as often as you want.
Once payment is made, advertisers cannot get a refund.
Payittome is hosted by Blogger. So I'm not responsible for occasional downtime for site maintenence.
No illegal/offensive/adult links will be accepted. I reserve the right to remove your link from Payittome if you don't respect this rule. Thank you very much.
